Rapping Dunking Christmas Puppets

Lupe Fiasco, KRS-One, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James.

Nike may be corporate as HELL, but like I have been told, they know how to go viral. Plus I am always up for KRS-One on the vinyl.

Teen Wolf...The TV Show

APT takes Teen Wolf very seriously. This is one of the greatest basketball movies of all time. Period. Plus, if I grow my ish out just right, I got a Scott Howard thing going on.

So color me a grinch when I say that I am concerned about this films legacy in the hands of MTV's pop culture machine. They are going the Remake-TV Series-Horror-Romance-Unintentional Comedy route.

The crew over at the Onion's AV Club are equally concerned. Hey MTV, stop fucking around with my childhood and bring back the music videos already.

Did Roomie Say Blakroc?

Yesterday my man was talking about a car...and here I was thinking he was talking about the Indie Rock/Hip-Hop Super Group by the same name.

We are now five minutes from seeing Jay-Z throwing down with Vampire Weekend.

Evolution of the Hipster / Sublime Update

A funny article from Paste Magazine concerning the evolution of the hipster. Click here to read... And click here for a more detailed view at the various stages of the cycle...

It's important for us to recognize if we're stuck in a stage, or properly evolving, or not even on the charts at all. I don't see any of those cats rocking earth-tone Dickies and a CMF t-shirt. Am I falling behind? Am I not hip? Dr. D needs to catch up with Roomie Rock and see where I may have fallen behind.

In other news, Dr. D's dipping back to the roots with this three-disc compilation from Sublime titled, "Everything Under the Sun." It features rare and unreleased, live, studio, and b-side tracks to bring you right into the Long Beach sunshine. This is my album of the month, throwing Julian Marley back into the archives.

Check it and enjoy!

A.I., Tiger, Definitive Beards, Wax and Decks

Great post from the friends over at Turntable Lab.
Boy Genius is dead on about A.I.

Big Brother...you still got my Answer DVD???

Myself, W2, Big Brother, MC Saiyid, Lady B, Adam-ant-ium Claws and The Duke visited the garden last night. Everyone had a chance to weigh in on this this circus. Boy Genius' post summarizes my current thoughts nicely.

In other news, great blog rec from my man Jim Green...Definitive Beards...a site all APT folks will love.

Also in the news...Wax and Decks...

OK, I will

Hello. It's been a while, but I couldn't not post this. Another gem by OK Go that just proves that they'd be megastars if music television was today what it once was. Simple ideas, perfect execution. And their songs are fun, dammit! Embedding was disabled, but check it out.

Enjoy

Mighty Mos Def

Plus Talib Kweli and The Roots and the lovelies from the Dirty Projectors, all live on Jimmy Fallon, who incidentally just missed meeting APT homeboy Sir Thomas of Doyle over the Thanksgiving weekend!
