A really cool piece of performance art...

They did this in London too...

Also, last nights' APT gala is featured on 3191 today...

APT Music Spotlight

Meet APT's newest friend, Shimoda.

Silent Poets have been around since '91...APT has a line on their Japanese only import compilation. Feel free to stop by APT for a listen...

In other news...if you are fiend for NYC (aka The City) like most of the folks here at APT, don't forget to check out NYTimes' newest interactive feature, Weekend Explorer. Give yourself a good hour to get through this...too good to pass up. Narrated by historians, you can even download these audio clips and go on the actual walking tour yourself.

NYC...even their newspaper is the sh*t!

Believe the Hype

I have been feeling newsy lately.

Pitchfork Music Festival is making waves. They have announced their lineup for this summers festival: Animal Collective (right); Vampire Weekend (okay); Public Enemy (what?).

PE in the house? Some say that the game has passed them by, like I imagine half of the waifish hipsters who will be in the crowd come July. Take a listen and judge for yourself. It certainly ain't Kanye or Clipse.

I suspect this won't phase Flav and Chuck. They will rip into the steamy Chicago air by playing their entire earth shattering album, It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back. Check this killer article on the group's legacy.

My guess is Geraldine Ferraro and Karl Rove will be sitting this one out. But what I want to know is...will APT be in the house?

Orangette

When you have a sec, say hello to Molly over at Orangette.

Via the Emerald City, girl started this food blog in 04 and now writes a monthly column in Bon Appetit. The recipie for these were made Sunday by APT members Roomie, MAV and Masta Chi. Cinnamon rolls with cream cheese glaze are no joke. You can find the recipie in this month's issue of Bon Appetit.

In other news, APT member Roomie has some new photos for you to peep...check them here.

Between Heaven and Earth

Breaking News out of the Block Party camp. Portland Maine screenwriter, friend of APT, and die hard Celtics fan Big Ben Monaghan may just be making his movie after all. This story covers all the struggles and essentials on his film about a man, his dead mother, and some gardening.

All the best Ben. We are rooting for you.

Knowledge Reigns Supreme

I was approached recently by a former student. Armed with a camera and a question he sought my sage like wisdom on matters of great import. "Mr. W2, who is the greatest MC of all time?"

After a long pause, I told him about a Brooklyn native with parents from Jamacia who came up with a little help from the Hare Krishnas. A unique upbringing for a man that would be called "Teacha" by his peers.

With all due respect to Rakim, Chuck D, Common, and BIG, for your Sunday listening pleasure, Lawrence Krishna Parker.

Santogold

Via Brooklyn, APT welcomes Santogold to the neighborhood...

The vid is wacko, but the cut is dope.

Don't sleep...

In other APT news...don't miss APT Hall of Famer Tony Bourdain's return his NYC's kitchen (Les Halles bistro, an APT NYC fav dinning spot) @ 10pm on Monday.
