APT Flick of The Week

It is not Slumdog Millionaire, nor is it Ben Button. It is mos def not Marley and Me, nor is it Jim Carrey's Yes Man.

Let us talk about DOUBT.

An apt title for a film released in these most challenging times. Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, militarized pirates surfing the high seas, the economic crisis, failing schools, the Celtics recent losing streak, and an escalating conflict in Gaza all have the world shook.

So what does a flick about a standoff between a Priest and a Nun set in 1964 have to do with all that? Nothing and everything.

This joint unfolds with a slow and strong patience, as accusations lead to answers that lead to more questions. Moral ambiguity abounds. The fireworks fly minus the CGI. Philip Seymour Hoffman, Meryl Streep, Amy Adams, and Viola Davis bring it in droves!

Peep the trailer.

Consider making some time for this one. It will not disappoint.
